Coal River Valley; 777 and D2V5 clones; 17% whole bunches; matured in 20% new French oak barrels for 10 months. Spicy, complex and black-fruited, this is a pinot that confidently fuses crunchy blackberry fruits and beetroot with the savoury, dried thyme overlay of whole-bunch fermentation and the subtle cashew-nut grip of a touch of new French oak. Firm, fine tannins bring up a dry finish of medium persistence.
